CDEO to attend the Global Health and Humanitarian Summit in Atlanta, GA

In April, 2012 CDEO will attend the Global Health and Humanitarian Summit being held at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. The Executive President, Mr. Ebot Ntui Ogork will present a paper on the challenges of Deaf Education in Cameroon; A Case of Ephphatha Institute for the Deaf, Kumba, Cameroon.

EID receives Mr. Joseph Fette, Political and Economic Officer to the U.S. Embassy in Cameroon

In February, the Ephphatha Institute for the Deaf was honored to receive Mr. Josepth Fette. Mr. Fette had the opportunity to visit ongoing EID projects.

CDEO, GDC and IYVF present paper to Cameroon Government

In August, CDEO in partnership with Global Deaf Connection, MN, USA and Integrated Youth Volunteer Foundation, Bamenda, Cameroon, presented a paper, the Cameroon State of Deaf Education Research Project Situational Analysis to the Cameroon Government. This was to further the implementation of Law No. 2010/002 of April 13th 2010 relating to the Protection and Welfare of Persons with Disabilities.

In July, CDEO celebrated its 15th Anniversary in style with an arts festival and sports activities under the distinguished patronage of the Ministers of Social Affairs and Culture.

CDEO creates a Network of NGOs Deaf Institutions

In September, CDEO successfully created a network of Deaf schools in Yaounde, Cameroon to further the exchange of ideas and experiences.

In August, CDEO was honored to attend the Special Needs Education International Conference hosted at the University of Calabar, Nigeria.

CDEO Celebrates 12th Anniversary!

On the occasion of the 12th anniversary of CDEO, the Board of Directors wishes to thank all CDEO partners both at home and abroad for past and present financial and material support. The Board calls on Cameroonians at home and in the diaspora, national and international charitable organisations, for better support of CDEO programmes. The CDEO seeks to intensify its networking with national and international organisations in the following areas: fundraising, the search for both deaf and hearing qualified volunteer teachers, the introduction of special education in Cameroon, as well as in the search for volunteer researchers for Cameroon Sign Language surveys.
